ON THE WIDE SCREEN
Okay, so perhaps I am a bit of a reluctant royalist. I am all for good cheer, let's put it this way, and there was plenty of that in abundance this morning. And call it providential, fortunate, or sheer coincidence, but the second that young woman stepped out of her car to enter the church, the sun suddenly and oh-so briefly came out. You couldn't make it up.

NOUGHTS AND CROSSES
NOUGHTS AND CROSSES
Kew
Mar 2006
Some moments will never happen again. To you, or anyone else. I know that this won't. Over breakfast my wife Christina said: Oh look, and pointed out the window. I sprinted to catch these contrails.
The contrails (or their pattern anyway) may contrive to exist again. The tree was cut down the next year.
So this moment, like our lives, will pass forever, captured only in this image.
That, I suppose, is a form of immortality.
